Room temperature superconductors promise to be one of the next world-changing advances in technology. Starting with the discovery of superconductivity in H3S near 200 K and 150 GPa, scientists have been moving ever closer to this milestone by studying hydride systems under pressure.

My doctoral research is part of the search for new hydrogen-rich compounds which become superconductive at room temperature and megabar-plus pressures. Investigative methods include the specialized preparation of diamond anvil cells.
